Our lab is a Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Lab of the Food Science and Technology Department of UNL. We were in Dept of Biological Sciences of NIU between 2012 and 2018. We have the following major research interests:

Our research is currently supported by an NIH R21 award (R21AI171952), an NIH R01 award (R01GM140370), an NSF CAREER award (DBI-1933521), a USDA grant (58-8042-9-089), and UNL Start-up Funds. We were funded by an NIH AREA award (1R15GM114706) and NIU Start-up Funds and Research&Artistry awards.

Students interested in doing bioinformatics/genomics research are welcome to contact me directly at yyin@unl.edu or 402-472-4303.

Our lab recruits students from Food Science, Complex Biosystems/Big Data, and Biochemistry. Prospective students should be aware of that most PhD students have RAship. International students of non-native speaker must check here to learn about the English Proficiency requirement.

Students with biology, computer science and statistics/mathematics background are all welcome to contact me at yyin@unl.edu with a letter of interest and information about your GPA, GRE, TOEFL (if internationals) scores.
