melezitose
help
Melezitose is a nonreducing trisaccharide sugar that is produced by many plant sap eating insects including aphids. This sugar is part of honeydew which acts an an attractant for ants and bee food. Aphids have a symbiotic relationship with ants. This sugar can be partially hydrolyzed to glucose and turanose( a sucrose isomer).
